Out in Canada on a November trip, the guys at work had challenged me to do a polar bear plunge. The air and the water were super cold, but I never back down from a challenge. Alexis was there to capture me taking my plunge and the recovery afterward. Hot and cold plunges are a big part of my wellness routine and something I prescribe to my clients and so capturing my story in her intimate style was a really fun thing to share with my followers.

All narrative sessions are unique and for that reason costs can vary greatly. After a phone consult to gain further insight into your goals and dreams for the session, you will pay a deposit payment that allows me to plan your session storyboards, inspiration boards, and shot lists. I will present the total session quote based on all of the above at the presentation meeting. Costs are dependent on photography time, editing time, necessary travel, and procurement of wardrobe and props if needed.

One of the first things I do in my process is get to know you and those that I will be photographing along with the narrative you want to tell.
Maybe you are a surfer or an artisan and you want me to capture your entire hobby from the moment you pull into your parking spot to the moment you get back in your car.
Maybe you are a family on vacation or a brand looking for a story to use in your advertising.
With one small deposit payment for the initial shoot planning, I get to work.

One of the first things I do in my process is get to know you and those that I will be photographing.
From there I curate the time of day, location, and even time of year to capture you at your absolute best; giving families opportunity to play, and lovers opportunity to display their love. For senior portraits, understanding the style and personality of the graduate so they can shine brightly in their session is my first priority.
I offer flexible scheduling and we will find a day and time that works best for your busy schedule.

storyboard approval
After conversations about the shoot and what you want to gain in the end, I start my planning process.
You will receive storyboards for the different stages of the shoot, stylistic inspiration boards for color story and overall aesthetic, and styling and prop lists.
I present the shoot plan to you for your approval or we can tweak it to meet your needs. The shoot plan will have the final quote for the work and at this time I take a 50% retainer to get started with the planning process.

wardrobe styling
Beautiful photos don't just naturally happen. To achieve the coordinated look that you want, and to make sure it works gorgeously with the natural surroundings of the session location, I offer wardrobe styling services to help you look and feel your best.
Upon booking you will receive a styling guide and I am available to you via text and e-mail to go over your outfit choices and offer suggestions.
You can opt for my additional service of a wardrobe styling board that includes purchase links to help you plan the perfect coordinated outfits without looking too matchy matchy.

Planning
Once we are in the planning stages we procure any styling items, props, wardrobe, and scout locations.
The planning process can be something I take care of fully, or we can work in conjunction with each other to achieve the plan. Depending on the subject of the shoot the planning process can be minimal or complicated, every shoot is different.
We also put the shoot date on the calendar taking into account the location, time of year, and time of day to achieve all of our stylistic goals.

during the session
On session day the most important thing is to come relaxed! I will facilitate opportunities to play, give direction to get you into stunning poses and to coax out true love and emotion.
Don't worry about whether your kids are smiling, or looking at the camera. They are kids! The goal is for you to enjoy the experience and have fun with them which will guarantee those cute smiles and relaxed faces.
All of the above applies to branding sessions, senior portraits and engagements. Let's have fun and let's show who you are to the fullest!

during the session
Because of our detailed prior planning, session day is fairly easy.
We work together to achieve the planned storyboard and shot list. For some of the day I might be shooting in a documentary style, taking photos as the action unfolds. For other portions I will be providing direction to take advantage of light or add details to the overall storyboard.
The session may span a few hours, a full day, or multiple sessions over time to achieve and end result.

gallery delivery
Post session, your gallery will be housed digitally online. You will be able to download the high resolution photos and a set for social sharing as well.
You will be able to mark your favorites to come back to later, and share the gallery with friends and family.
My processing time for editing photos always depends on my current work load, but I always aim to get photos to you within two weeks of the shoot. I will make sure to communicate my current delivery timeline after the session.
